I am looking at a .22 plinker and am leaning towards the Beretta Neos. They seem to be the right price. I do have a CZ75B and I know they have conversion kits. Any recommendations towards a .22, or is it better to get a conversion kit? Also any input on the Beretta, I’ve read that the trigger pull is heavy, but otherwise a good pistol? Any input or adive would be appreciate, heading to the gun show this weekend.

I am opting for the conversion kit for my 75B. I know the gun and if I get a different kind then I am going to have to learn new things about a new gun. Besides, I like staderdizing.

Beretta NEOS is my next planned purchase. I don't have a CZ75, but I was planning to get a whole Kadet pistol, but it's just too much money for a dedicated .22 pistol. Every review I have read has loved the NEOS, except for the trigger pull. BUT, there is a trigger mod that people have been doing that gets it down to about 3 pounds w/ great travel. My local stores carry the NEOS 6.5" standard black for $225, but one has it for $199, so for the price, I'm not considering a CZ Kadet any more. If I already owned a CZ75, I would be very torn between the two.

Any impressions on the Browning Buckmark Camper model, It is in the same price range as the Beretta. I was also thinking about a Ruger, but my neighbor has one and says it is a real pain to strip. Any other idea? I think the kadet kit dor my CZ is more expensive than a pure .22 adn may require some tweaking to fit, so its out of the running.

My vote is for the CZ Kadet .22 conversion kit. It's accurate, got good sights, and smooths out your 75b's trigger. There's also something to be said for practicing on the exact same platform.

.22

No, I don't have a 1911, that is on the dream list too. I wanted to keep the cost of the .22 down to Nom more than 250, preferably 200, the Kadet is more than that, but I may still consider it. The other option is too just save up for more of everything. Well see what I find at the show today, the bulk of my money is going to a safe, so I thought I could toss in a little pistol un-noticed by the frau.

I've got 2 1911 conversion kits and a Ruger 22/45.

They all work fine.

But if I had to buy them again, one at a time, the 22 pistol would be first then the conversion kits.

Two guns are better than one and with the conversion kit you still have only one gun.

If you already have a CZ, the Kadet Kit is hard to beat: its not a firearm and doesn't require permits, etc., can be shipped without hassle, etc., and most of them are very, very accurate.

I had a Ruger Target Competition (slabside) in stainless. Great gun. But after I got the Kadet Kit, I traded the Target Competition for a used Witness Sport Long Slide and never looked back.

If you don't want a conversion kit, I'd recommend a used Ruger MK II... rock solid, almost indestructible, etc.

I have the CZ-75 and the Kadet conversion kit. I love it. BTW, I also have the Series '70 and Series '80 conversion kit by Colt. I've shot with the former, but not the latter.

A couple of VQ parts (sear, extractor, etc.) should sweeten up that Mk II quite a bit. If funds allow, do look into the Kadet kit. It's really worth the two and a half bills, IMHO.

Drill and tap?

Is it possible to drill and tap the MKII, or is there some othery type of mount that can be used? I am just curious, the one I have is not drilled and tapped, I was going to buy one that was but missed the oppurtunity. By the way its stainles steel, bull barrel, model KMK512. I was hopin gto get to the range but is absolutely pouring rain today, so maybe after work. I think I will be in the market for a nicer grip soon enough.

Also how often do you all clean yours?

thanks, Bill
