i agree with the ruger auto or the browning buck mark. my dad has the browning and i had the targer model ruger . with the right ammo they both will compete with each other but neither are easy to take down and clean. depends on what you wanna do with it. if your hunting with it i would say ruger mk 1,2,3 or browning buck mark but if your training or just slinging lead the ruger sr22 seems to do pretty good from the test ive seen.

SW M&P 22.
Accurate. Fun to shoot, Multiple backstraps (just like the rest of the M&P Line)
Regular grip instead of the finger ledges like the Walther's (If they fit great otherwise forget it!)
Also, if you want to get another M7P 9 or 40 the gun is the same frame. Makes it easy to move up with!

I only have personal experience with two of the guns on your list...the Ruger MK series and the P-22

Hard to beat the Ruger's. Both of mine are the MK II with the bull barrel...one stainless and one blued. Either is accurate enough to squirrel hunt with out to 25 yds. and will function with anything. I don't understand the complaints about being difficult to field strip. Why would you do that?:D Mine just keep on trucking with minimal attention.

I had a Walther P-22 for a short time. Very short. Nice size & fit my hand well, but had numerous feeding issues...and in two range sessions the front sight fell off 3 times. Decided I wasn't going to look for it again & traded it for a nice 10-22

And yes....the Buckmark should be on the list.

I have had several Rugers, including a gorgeous Stainless Government Model with the long barrel. It shot as well as it looked. I still have a Ruger MKII, with the longer, tapered barrel, for when I need two .22s (as when my son, and eventually, my grandson, shoot with me.)

Funny thing, though, the only one that gets shot much when it's just me is my CZ Kadet Kit, mounted on my CZ 85 Combat frame. That little .22 conversion kit was/is every bit as accurate as the Government Model. I was really suprised, and later I traded the Government Model away for a .45. I miss it's beauty, but the Kadet Kit shoots just as well.

I own a 22/45, but voted for the MK III. I found out after I bought mine that I like the MK better. But the 22/45 is still a great shooter - especially if you're a 1911 kind of guy.

My wife has a Mosquito and I have a P226-22 beavertail. Both are great. The only problem is finding premium 22lr. It will not cycle some of the imported stuff. I stick with CCI, Remington, and Winchester and no problems.

HAHA I see lots of Ruger guys here....Yeah I field striped my grandpa's BRAND NEW mark III so I know what you are talkin about there haha. I guess I will have to see what is at the gun show but being able to pop a beer bottle at 75 yards does have appeal...!
