I've got an extra YHM suppressor laying around and I don't have another .22 to mount it on. If you guys had a couple hundred bucks laying around, what would you get? This is for pest control :) I'm thinking Ruger 10/22 or Charger, Kel-tec PLR-22, or Walther G22. I've already got a Mark III with a threaded barrel, so that's why I am looking at the longer barrel pistols and rifles..

I found a website where I can get a PLR-22 for $270 new. The barrel is threaded 1/2x28 from the factory, so that would be the most economical route. I've already got a PLR-16 and that thing rocks, so I'm not afraid to purchase a Kel-Tec like some of you guys, but on the other hand I wouldn't mind having something other than the PLR-22 if it means I can get a good deal on it.

Whatever you get, don't forget to budget in the money for threading it if it isn't already threaded. I know some of the walthers (adapter needed) and the plr-22 are, don't think Ruger threads any of theirs at the factory.

For pest control, I'd reach for my suppressed 452. They make one that comes factory threaded, but it isn't a typical .22 thread pitch so you'd need to get an adapter.
How well would a .22 silencer work off a .22 AR platform?
Great. Tons of fun.

You can go for the 10/22 and pimp it out with the folding stock, optics, rails, and 50 round drum, then put a silencer on it.

Why you WOULD though...

Answer: Because you can.

i would definetly check out a gsg5 or the gsg 5pk and sbr it with a collapsable stock, just got a 5pk and i love it, gonna sbr it soon and then i will be looking for a suppressor

Any bolt action rifle, with the barrel twist for Aguila SSS. 60gr subsonic ammo, with the correct twist AND suppressed would be perfect. You could probably kill a squirrel in the same room, and nobody else would know it.

I would go the Charger route. Plenty of 10/22 parts around and you can make them very quiet. I am already starting a Charger project so I may be biased.

An SBR'd GSG-5 would be a lot of fun. I also noticed that S&W and Sig Sauer are making new .22LR "Tactical" rifles.

I'd save a bit of money for a CZ 452 American 16". They come from the factory with threaded barrels (not sure on the pitch), and are fabulous rifles.

It's a good rifle to start the kids on someday.
