looking for an answer, recently someone broke in and stole my old mans 22 ruger shorty w/rotary clip. It was the first rifle he ever owned and is now 60 years old. He bought it in 1965, just a pup then and didnt log down anyone serial number for it. This weapon was in mint condition and the detectives could not recover it. Now they are asking a value on this weapon...Value? On your old mans first rifle? Just kind of laughed, but have no idea what it was worth...anyone out there have any idea?

What is a "Ruger shorty?" If it's a 10/22 rifle (the only .22 I can think of that Ruger makes with a rotary magazine) then it's worth about $200.

he always called it a shorty.... it is a walnut stocked rifle and believe it or not we own an insurance agency...we know that they cant put a value on your first weapon but we wanted to reach out to others to see what they thought. I appreciate all your help and knowledge, I would love nothing more than to find the weapon and like a good ol' lady hand it back to him...

Talk soon thanks
