.22 Snubbie Recomendation??

ArchAngel,

I slap-dog forgot about the Velocitor ammo. Great idea!

I like the Stingers, tho. Yes, they are light bullets, but I've never had any problem with them taking down what I was shooting. Granted: I have NEVER used them for self-defense - unless you count that feral armadillo that charged me.

FWIW, we used to butcher 500+ pound steers and 300+ pound hogs with a single .22LR "solid" right between the eyes. In all my years, we only had to shoot two more than once, and both times it was because the animal jerked just as the trigger was squeezed, so instead of the bullet striking where it was supposed to go, it went elsewhere. Not arguing that the HPs are more potent for self-defense...just making an observation.

Q

ArchAngelCD- The weight of the bullet is in the formula for finding out the ft/lbs. The stinger still delivers more energy even with a smaller bullet. And that's all that matters. But the difference of 8 ft/lbs doesn't matter much. The same model ammo will vary more then that from bullet to bullet. Plus, I think those figures are for a rifle barrel. They will be way, way lower out of 2 inch barrel.
