My sps 223 shoots great too. Been throwing the 69 smks very well with just under 24 g of varget.
It's a handy rifle, very accurate, cheap to shoot especialy if you roll your own rounds, fun longer range on targets, great for introducing new shooters, great ammunition availability, works on deer when close enough for CNS shots (not a "good" choice by any means though), and fantastic on smaller critters. Would work on two legged predators in a pinch as well. It makes a great practice rifle as well for larger more expensive calibers.
Honestly, I shoot it way more than my ar15... I don't think you would be unhappy with one.
