I searched the archives and a found a thread regarding this issue, but it left me confused.

The "book" maximum OAL is 2.260. One of the responses in the above search was that as long as part of the maximum diameter of the bullet is outside the case it will be safe.

My chamber will only accept an OAL of 2.200. Even at this OAL, only about an 1/8" of the bullet is inside the case. There is no bullet cannelure. Is this still good to go?

The old rule of thumb is 1 bullet diameter inside the case for adequate case neck tension to hold the bullet in place and provide good start pressure in the powder burn.

Once again, what kind of rifle do you have that will only accept 2.200" loads??

And whatever it is, it must not be able to shoot factory ammo????

I think there must be more to this story!!! ;)
