.223 Powder for Dillon

I load .223 Rem in my 550. All of my Dillon measures have two mods: 1) polished funnels with cratex dremel bits and polishing compound, and 2) Micrometer powder bar adjustments. They're a little more consistent, but still +/- .1 or .2 grains.

Over the years, I've definitely grown to favor stick powders over ball powders. In many/most cases loads thrown with stick powders vary more, but with good bullets (Nosler CC, SMK(s), B-Tips, V-Max, Z-Max) they still shoot noticeably better.

That said, if I'm loading a batch of 55 Gr FMJ(s), H335, or TAC will give about the same results.

For 40 Gr Vmax/Zmax/B-tips I like H322.
For 50-52-53-55 Gr Vmax/Zmax/B-tips/BTHP I prefer Benchmark.
For 55 Gr FMJ or cheap 50-55gr soft points, I like TAC, H335, or 2230
For 69 Gr SMK(s) or Nosler CC I prefer Varget
For 77 Gr SMK(s) I prefer Varget or RL-15
