I picked up some PPU .223 Brass at the range and want to know if it is good to reload. How does it compare to others?

PPU is good stuff. Sice you didn't fire it and can't be sure of how many times it has been loaded make sure you trim it up. PPU primer pockets are pretty good and are nice because you don't have to remove the military crimp.

So to be absolutely clear, PPU's dont have staked primers? I've got about 200 of 'em and have them set aside to eventually be swaged when I get to it. No need?

They were once fired (observed) but I assumed they needed swaging. Incidentally mine say PPU 5.56, not PPU .223. Usually assume metric labels means mil-surp means staked primers.

The PPU XM193 I have reloaded did not have staked primers you can tell by looking at the bottom of the brass and look for brass that is staked ocver the primer.
