Long time reloader here of pistol but just jumping into rifle. My question is that you only need to swage primer pockets once correct to remove crimp and thats it? So if I were to buy factory reloads then it is safe to say that their brass has been swaged once already in order for them to reload it?

Yes, you only need to process the primer pocket once and then only on military brass. Most commercial .223 ammo does not have a crimped primer. If you are buying factory reloads they either used brass that did not have a crimped primer pocket or they fixed it to reload.
