Is this normal for .224 50g TNT bullets?
They measure .2335 at the very base. Just off of the base up to the ogive they measure .223 .I don't think that they are setting very straight in the neck of the case. I wonder how well that .223 is gripping the rifling. They aren't grouping very good. I know that I can work on the load to get a somewhat better group.

What I really want to know is if this is normal for the TNT. If it was just a box of 100 I would just shoot them and be done with them, but I have a box of 1000. I don't want to mess with trying to get Speer to replace them only to receive more of the same.

Any bullet that is under sized is considered out of spec unless the box specked that dia. I've had many replaced over the years. If you were to contact the mfg, they normally want a few back to confirm. Then replace them at 2:1. Depending on gun you may or may not seen a big swing in accuracy at short distances.

Well, you may want to use a micrometer to measure that fine.

Just because a digital caliper gives a reading does not mean that reading is correct. Mititoyo measuring equipment is great, but calipers are not realy designed to measure that fine.

Yeah, I had one of the cnc guys check them with a micrometer at work the other day. I didn't write it down but he said they were a little worse than the reading I was getting with my calipers.
