I read on here recently that this stuff had really gone up in price. Too bad since all my .22s love it. So today in Walmart I looked and it was still 1.47 a box. I took the last 10 they had. Is this what it sells for everywhere or did I read a post wrong? I'm going to buy up all I can at that price.

Local WW doesn't seem to carry Fed 510 around here anymore. Dunham's sporting goods sells them for about $2.00, but seem to be on sale on a regular basis for $1.47.

One Walmart just outside my home area raised the prices to $1.77/box prior to Thanksgiving. A week or so later I was in Walmart again in my hometown and they were still $1.47/box.

I just recently checked several of my local Walmarts and they are completely sold out of all 22LR ammo--all brands.

The Academy around me is the only one that sells 510 in bricks. IIRC the last one I bought was $20, which puts the per 50 rnd box at $2, but I don't mind. Still cheaper than CCI and the match grade stuff.

Some of my .22s have different "favorites," but Fed 510 shoots above average in all of them, including my autos, so it's my #1 choice for ammo.

Fed 510 has been my favorite for years.
I guess I haven't bought it for a while.
I remember paying $11.something plus tax per brick at Academy.
I thought it was high then. I think I bought 6 bricks.
Now I'm running low.

Are there any sales for decent .22 ammo these days?
I'm not too fond of the gold/copper washed hollow point stuff.

What's up with high velocity ammo (wildcat, thunderbolt, etc.)?
Those brands go on sale from time to time.
Does it perform well?
I've always bought standard ammo for target shooting.

"Everyday is a sale at Walmart" when it comes to 22 ammunition. Just keep your eyes open when you visit a Walmart and buy what you need when they have it in stock.

I tried a brick of Winchester Wildcat (actually still have a few boxes from it still to get through). In my Marlin 39A, it shoots awful. Strangely enough - it shoots out of my Ruger Mark III slabside pistol in one ragged hole. So you never know. Very dirty either way.

Haven't shot Thunderbolt in years but the general consensus seems to be it's the worst .22 ammo on the market.

The WW here is completely out of every brand, size, variant of .22LR ammo... And people were there trying to figure out why... I said "because of the panick buyers, and it's Christmas time..." I got some wierd looks over that...

Strangely enough, Thunderbolts seem to be one of the few brands my Beretta 21a likes reliably. Fortunately, at the rate I shoot it, the brick I have should last me approximately forever.

I have stopped shooting until it warms up a bit. Freezing my butt off is not what I call fun. Still buying ammo. I picked up another brick of 22 ammo this evening. This time it was the Winchester stuff since I don't have much of it. Have not shot any of the current Winchester stuff yet, so I'm hoping it shoots okay. I would guess I buy about a brick a week on the average and shoot about half that although I have my days where I shoot 3-4 rifles and a fair amount of ammo.

Here in ZIP 28053, Fed 510 is $1.47/50. I buy so much the sales people see me coming and dig it out before I even ask. If they have it, that is
