i am searching everywhere for 22LR WOLF Match Target {not the extra match} and can't find anything but advertisements for outfits that do not have it in stock anymore. pls tell me if you know of anyplace i can order some bricks of this, not interested in 50 round box pricing.

below, JG sales' description of the flavor i'm after, and a link to the advert w/jpg of box:

40gr lead bullet, made in Germany by SK for Wolf (Often does not have Wolf box, but golden SK plus boxes), precision target loads at a low price for match and practice.

gunnie,

Instant gratification does not appear to be an option in this case.....

Most guys I know who shoot the WMT place orders with whoever is advertizing it and wait for the backorders to be filled. That's the only way I know of getting it that works.

thanks Swampy

judging by the lack of replies, that may be my next course of action...

Unfortunately, that is the case. Shipments from Germany have been pretty slow (from what I've seen) for Wolf stuff. I usually get my ammo from Champion Shooters by the case. When they were at Camp Perry this year, I bought a case (as well as a case of Match Extra from Champion's Choice) and they had quite a few cases there. Have you tried them for avaiability? (still advertised as $370/case)

Champion Shooters Supply is the only place I've ever bought any. They seem to always have cases in stock and are great folks to do business with.

The last I purchased was at Champion's Choice in Lavergne TN (cheaper too). They seem to have it most of the time. You order online or call. There is also SK's Standard Plus which is the same exact ammo (same manufacturer). Lapua is also made by them, but I'm not sure what would be the equivalent to Wolf Match Target.

Wolf is not Quality Related

Wolf is Cheap, while Quality costs. Americans can still afford quality. Spend the extra pennies for QUALITY while we can still afford to do so. Someday soon, all we will be able to afford shall be RUSSIAN WOLF, so don't rush that day. cliffy

cliffy,

22LR chambered firearms are VERY ammo sensitive. one may never know the potential of their 22 unless they try everything available through it before deciding on any particular flavor.

mine prefers wolf match over nearly twenty other brands i tried in it. some costing 2x and 3x what the wolf costs.

do your 22 a favor and try ~everything~ through it untill you find what works best for that particular one. i have heard of same make/models that didn't like the same ammo. they are that ammo sensitive....

Cliffy,

FYI Dude.... The Wolf .22 Target Match ammo is made in Germany by SK.... some folks that REALLY know how to make .22 ammo. It is rapidly becoming one of the PREFERRED ammo choices for use by competitors.

I know several guys here shooting NRA .22 prone with Anschutz 64 & 1903 rifles. The Anschutz tubes eat the WMT up... and shoot some fabulous scores doing it.

Wolf Match Target .22 most definitely is NOT cheap ammo..... It IS primo stuff.

Yeah, don't confuse Wolf 22 ammo with Wolf military ammo. Different beasty. The Wolf brand, particularly Match Target has quite a following. I wouldn't call it cheap at $4.00-$4.50 a box of 50.

reputation = $

when i first started using it a brick was 19 american inflationary notes.

I'm on the phone with my brother this very second telling him about the 200 rounds of Wolf target match I got today for $20 even, when I see this thread!! Weird. Anyway,a local pawn-gunshop I've done good bidness with for a few years has a few loose boxes, and a couple bricks. The guys at rimfirecentral swear by this stuff, and it seems to be expensive and hard to find, so I jumped on it, and if my new CZ 452 likes it, may go grab all the rest, though I probably won't get any better deal that way.

Wolf is Cheap,...

Oh man, I sure wish .22 lr Wolf Match Target and Match Extra were cheap.

As noted above, Wolf .22 lr is made by SK-Jagd in Schönebeck (Elbe), Germany which is owned by Lapua Oy. The new Lapua X-ACT cost a little too many pennies to afford for this American. Wolf Match will do.
