My BIL & I were shooting his Colt AR 22 this past Friday when he asked the same thing.
Hadn't thought much about it before he asked, but it didn't take long for me to answer him with:
"Remember what you paid for this lake city XM193? Remember what they were selling .22 mag for?"

I actually started a thread earlier this year (somewhere) asking folks if they'd like to see Ruger come out with Mark III version that ate up & spit out .22 WMR.
I for one (and my wife) would be all over something like that......
