I know I will be picking one of these up soon.. for those of you that dont know it is taurus' target version of the 24/7. It is a 12 round 45 acp (with a surprisingly slip and comfortable grip), has ambi thumb safety, decock, DA/SA and double strike capabilities, a nice trigger in either pull with an extremely consistent reset and break.

I am curious what others have to say about them. I am not interested in Taurus bashers so save that, but honest input would be appreciated... whether positive or negative..

Thanks in advance.

I too am in the same boat. I just played around with one today, and was very happy to notice that the trigger reset is almost immediate, Wayyyy better than my glock. I've posted over on the the taurus forum. you may want to check it out too. Please send me a pm or post on this thread about how it shoots, and what you think about it. Thanks.

I have the 9mm, love the gun, was finicky about accuracy at first, but then it became a tack driver. The only issue is the trigger, it has like a rough drag even in S/A mode. Its not the worse, but it may take time to get smooth.

i have a regular 24/7 45 acp. i like the gun, it is comfortable, and works well. i am not happy with taurus's customer servce dept however. it took me 3 months, and cost me $70.00 to get 3 "warrantyable springs" replaced. so, imo, the gun is great, the cust. serv. sucks! the only part of the gun i would replace is the sights. fibre optics adjustable sights would be a great improvement. after i purchase boolit casting equipment, that will be my next "investment".

The closest Taurus in the 24/7 model line I have is the PT145 Mil Pro 3rd Gen. It's basically a compact 24/7 it has the DA/SA and double strike of course. For a compact 45acp 10+1rnds it a great pistol and like most 3" bbl 45's with a polymer frame you cannot limp wrist it. Otherwise a solid performer that has feed everything. I cannot say I like the trigger but it is what it is. It's not a 1911 with SA 4lb trigger...that's what my PT1911 is for.

Go ahead and buy it. It is the best bang for buck amongst semi-autos. There is small chance you will get a lemon but I would take the risk.

I have been thinking of buying one in .40S&W
