I will quit asking questions after this for a while.
In between doctor visits & a bit unsure about stuff, need something to do.
I don't remember buying these or how they got here, maybe from
buying someone's whole reloading outfit, that is probably where they
came from #45220, lots of them.
They are made for the Ruger & T/C of course.
I have the T/C single shot 45/410, I called T/C & they said the bullet
loaded to max was ok but I don't like shooting it for 45 , just 410, because
I have to remove the choke tube, tried it with factory & it is about as accurate
as a snub nose at 100 yards.
I called Hornady a few months ago & they said yes I could shoot the
.452 240 grain XTP MAG bullet thru the s&w 25-5 8" barrel using
Cowboy loads, seems most model 25 loads rotate around that type load.
However on the boxes it says Heavier Jacket, yet Hornady guy said it
is ok.
Any ideas on this bullet for the s&W 25 ?

Indeed, the MAG XTP bullets are designed for higher velocities so they're pretty tough. I shoot the ones you have in my .454 Casull and in a 16" .45 Colt Rossi '92 to good effect (The .454 load isn't at max speeds though). In a standard-pressure .45 Colt load I'll recommend to use the standard XTP and you'll be happier with the performance.

Stay safe.

I got plenty of the 250 grain xtp, just dabbling with ideas.
