So, trying to load some barnes tsx 95gr for the 243. Brand new rifle 8 shots out of it. Brass full length sized. And trimmed. Chamfered, deburred. Size checked. Compared to factory ammo Fiooci,Hornady oal now shorter oal then both. ,using Hornady bullet comparator as well. My Hornady interlock btsp loads chamber fine. Now this Is only a dummy round. But clambering is rough. Something isn't right. I colored the bullet. I see it's hitting on the tip, right under the blue tip of the bullet. Worried if I go any deeper pressure may become an issue.. gonna look up ,for min. Oal length for .243. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before. Thanks Hornady 2,4 9. Nosler 1,4 9, Sierra '71 book, Lee 2nd, Lyman 2 older books. I am gonna read up.. but any help would be greatly appreciated

Looking up a generic minimum length will not help you. Sink the bullet deep enough to be jumping 50-80 thousandths, and you’ll likely see improved performance.
It's has not been a performance issue, i am burying this bullet ,deep in the case..and it is chambering like it's hitting In the lands &rifling. The bullets shape n design would lead someone to believe looking at it, they would be close to what Barnes listed oal at. 2.760 I believe. Maybe a fluke. I ll put together another dummy round and go from there. I appreciate any and all insight

As I stated before - jump the bullet 50-80 thou… to do so, you have to find your actual BTO length which kisses your actual lands, and will leave any generic book data behind.

Your actual rifle is what matters. Maybe you have a long throat or a short one. Maybe the interference you feel is a tight neck or excessive headspace length on your brass, maybe it’s the bullet contacting the lands… but operating on generic data instead of building ammo to fit your actual rifle will keep you in the dark to defining the ACTUAL cause of that interference feeing.
