Gonna be a few days before I can get back to the range, putting down the rifle and picking up a fishing rod for the week gents.
On a stool, just arms no rest, tripod, or sandbags.
next timeout try to use some kind of rest, a rolled up towel will even work. even if you shoot at 25yard try to hold steady.
Tried to level the rifles forearm on the towel couldn't get a good sitting position to look through the scope right
No fish and alot of sun burn.My last range trip. I told my wife I was going to the range and she said see you at dark.
How was your fishing trip.

Hey, it happens. Just jonesing to shoot that rifle some more.Sorry about that.
Going back to the range this weekend I have bought a cheap rifle rest at academy for this time round.
Honestly havent tried it yet, havent shot the rifle since last time I posted on this thread, I've been dealing with my handguns but I do need to get back out there. How did that rest work out for you.
I was. curious to see if that worked better or not. Update us when you try it out.Honestly havent tried it yet, havent shot the rifle since last time I posted on this thread, I've been dealing with my handguns but I do need to get back out there.

I am going to use 243 or 6mm this year for deer hunting in Upstate New York close to the Pennsylvania border. I will be picking up some projectiles and see what I want to use.
For these calibers do you guys like hollow points, pointed soft points or what?
My shots are often in the woods, between 50 to maybe 80 yards.
Occasionally i might get a field shot out a couple hundred yards.
For that kind of shooting, Sierra pro hunter all day everyday and only leave em for a bonded bullet.I am going to use 243 or 6mm this year for deer hunting in Upstate New York close to the Pennsylvania border. I will be picking up some projectiles and see what I want to use.

Those things are beautiful! I've still got some squirrelled away! I only ran em to 200 yds, but anything they touched sure knew they'd been hit!Another thing you might try... Hornady used to offer a 100gr jacketed RN soft point. If you run across some of those, depending on your rifle, they may also be the ticket for deer out to 80yds.
