I have finally pulled my Weatherby Ultra Lightweight in .25-06 out of the cabinet with the intention of mounting some glass and shooting it. My question is the 1-10" twist barrel that Weatherby uses more suited for the lighter or the heavier weight bullets. I picked up a box of the Federal 100gr Nosler BT (#P25006D) to get the gun on paper.
I have no real intention of hunting with it, mainly paper. I'm sure the gun will shoot, I just don't want to run the full spectrum bullet weights to find out what.
Thanks,
Shaun

100's are pretty safe in the 25-06 - work well in most of them. 100 - 120 grains seems about ideal. just stick w/ the 100's as long as you have 'em.

I have had real good luck with 120's over the years. I have not had enough experience with the 100's to really comment much. Let us know how they work out.

Thanks, I will try some of the offerings in 100gr. to see what the gun likes. Should the gun be able to shoot both ends of the scale?
