Rifle: Remington 700
Barrel: 24" Sporter 1/10"
Distance: 100yd
Weather: 65F Sunny

Load Data: Various Manuals
Case: Win
Primer: CCI200
COAL: 3.010
Charge Range: 45gr - 50gr

Worked up from 45 to 50 grains. I had one manual list 50.3 as max load and lowest minimum was listed was 44.9.

The only loads that were under 1" we're 45, 45.5, and 46. Each 0.5 increase above 46gr opened up the group. Pressure signs showing at 49.5.

If I can only get the 75gr to shoot at the lower velocities there would be no need to use them. I was hoping to have the ~3,600fps loads print well.

Thank you guys for all the information you share here. I hope my info can be of use to someone.

Try 4350, 4831,Rl19, 4064 or 4895 might work better with the light weights too. Any powder that works well in the .270 will also work well in the 25/06.

Thank you for the advice. I have on hand RL19, 4064, Big Game and Win780. I have a batch of 85 grain Noslers loaded up with the RL19 but I don't have any data for the 75gr.

I would switch to a slower powder. I'm using 57g H4350 on the 75g V-max and get 1/2' groups @100yd. It does ugly things to a coyote!

The Win 780 should be a solid choice but I just haven't worked up any loads yet. I bought it just for the 25-06.

RL19 is just a tad slower than the H4350 and is Nosler #7 choice for the 85gr BT's and 100gr Partitions.

Of the powders listed 4064 is probably the best choice. The 75 gr bullet does it's best with 2 powders, 4064 and W760.

Problem with the 75 gr is it runs out of steam about 250 300 yards.

This is 36 years of .25-06 experience speaking.

If you want really good ballistic performance, go with a high B.C. bullet like Bergers 115 VLD. I get "UNDER" 1/2" groups with it fairly often. I have proven this bullets out to 800 yards so far. I just need to get a more appropriate scope on this rifle to stretch it further. These bullets make a good mess of a yodle dog (coyote)! Drops deer like a sack of potatoes.

If you go after bigger animals than deer, try the 120 Grain Nosler Partitiion. It's B.C. isnt great, but its ability to kill BIG stuff is!

the 75 grain bullet is very light and short. If your rifle doesnt like the powder you are presently using, try some others. If no powders seem to get the accuracy your looking for, try a different brand of light bullet.

Keep at it, Reloading is both fun and rewarding!

Rel-19 may have the best potential with either the 75gr or your 85gr for accuracy and velocity. I use it in a 270 Win with the lighter 110gr HP.
The overbore design of the 25-06 really works better with a slower powder than Rel-15, so mix and match the components at your disposal and find what it prefers.

My Savage 110FLP doesn't like to shoot the 75gr or 85gr bullets at all.
I've played with just about every powder combination there is,and they just won't shoot very good. But it loves 100gr or 115gr bullets, and will shoot 1 hole groups with almost any of them.
