I bought the Cougar today. I was a little disappointed that it is the Mini-Cougar instead of the full-size model. The full-size is just so much better looking in my opinion. It came with the holster in the picture, 3 extended magazines, and a fancy plastic case (SKB Sports) that has a button labeled “Relief valve automatic two-way depress core before opening lid”. Honestly I have no idea of the purpose of this button. The seller stated that he had rushed to bring the gun today, and will need a little more time to find the original Beretta case (which his wife has hidden somewhere), and the additional magazines. I assume that this pistol came with the flush fit mags, but I really don’t know. Still for $250, it seemed like a good deal. Thanks for the feedback to my previous post-

Nice gun, looks sharp.

The valve on the case is to equalize pressure. So it doesn't pop open at high altitude, or stick shut at sea level.

You got a great deal. Heck, that Galco shoulder rig is $110 new.

I'm not an expert on this, but here's what I've gathered. Air/water tight cases often have a valve so you can equalize the pressure inside the case. Changes in altitude such as airline travel can/will cause pressure changes in airtight cases. You can also test the air/water tight seal on your case by using the valve.Empty it out and close it, putting extra pressure in the middle of the case. This will (should) create a vacuum inside the case. When you use the valve you should hear a hiss.

Is it for sale yet? Don't need the holster or case. I really like the cougars, but cannot get used to the light recoil from the 8357. The 8040 compact and "regular" model really remove percieved recoil. They have become regular carry guns in the rotation. My sweetie ONLY carries the 8040 now. Thank you honey, can I have my P-12 back?????

Thanks for the info on the case and holster. Yes, I am considering selling it in state.

Well, U can either use the mini cougar mags, or use that mag adapter/extension, and use the full size mags and make it almost like the fullsize cougar. That's not too bad :)

I do like the extended magazines because they balance the gun better. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

I finally got a chance to take the Cougar out to the range today. Wow, this is one nice shooting gun. Recoil is negligible, and accuracy is very good. Great gun, even if it isn’t as “pretty” with the shortened grip.
