I have a chance to pick up a Beretta Cougar in 40 caliber tomorrow. A doctor with whom I work has resigned his position and is relocating to California. He wanted to unload his Beretta Cougar, and offered it to me for $250. He is bringing it in tomorrow to make the transfer. He bought it new in 2000, and has put 200 rounds through the gun. He says that it is in new condition, and comes with six 10 round magazines, some ammo, hard plastic case, and a shoulder holster. I’ve always liked the looks of the Beretta Cougar, but haven’t noticed many posts concerning this particular firearm. Does anyone have experience or opinions on the Cougar in 40 caliber? Is it reliable? Durable? Does it have sufficient case support for the 40? Anyone heard of “kabooms” with the 40 Beretta Cougar? Are hi-cap magazines available for this model? I would appreciate any info on this gun. It is blued with plastic grips, DA/SA. The price seems very good, so I don’t think I can pass it up. Thanks for any information.

Buy it!

With closed eyes !!! It is a bargain!!!!

How come I never run into this kind of things???? :banghead:

Enjoy your gun and stay safe!

I used to have a 9mm one when they first came out - back then, they had blue steel slides and were made in Italy. I sold it simply because I had too many guns at the time.

But, that is a deal.

Thanks for all of the responses. Sounds like a pretty good deal. I will post a picture tomorrow after work. According to him, it is in like new condition. Hopefully this is accurate.
