Should I use a 260 or 270 for deer hunting?

Go for the 270 just because ammo is easier to find.

If I had both rifles I'd use the 260

If I were buying a rifle (especially if new to rifles and or hunting) I'd snag a cheap bolt action 270, lots of practice ammo and a Nikon prostaff or better 3x9x40 scope

Both great rounds. Both will kill a deer dead out to any range you could possibly shoot accurately.

.270 is easier to find.
