This is my first year reloading and so far I've only reloaded for my .270. I put down a nice buck at around 300 yards (307 according to the range finder) with a Barnes 130 gr TTSX loaded over 56gr of IMR4831. 57gr is the max load and is compressed. The bullet went clean through taking out both lungs and a rib on each side and I could see a puff of dust where the bullet hit the ground behind him. The exit wound was the size of a quarter.

270win H-4831 dead in his tracks !

I have had very good results with 53.0 gr of Reloder 17 with a Remington 9 1/2 primer pushing a Nosler 130 gr Ballistic Tip or Solid Base bullet. Runs 2900+ out of my 22" barrel Marlin X7. Consistently sub MOA.

For past 23 years it's 58.5 IMR 4831, Nosler 130 BT, REM 9 1/2 primers.

Out of my 23.5" barreled Steyr I get 3150FPS and it hovers under 1 MOA.

I load for quite a few rifle calibers and find IMR-4350 consistently gives better results across the board than any other powder. If I had to only use one rifle powder for the 6mm’s up to 338 Win Mag, it would be that powder. My 270 Winchester is more accurate with it than any other powder. The new Nosler loading book lists 51 grains as a starting load and 55 grains as maximum. I’d start with 51 grains and work up one grain at a time with bullet seated about .020 off the lands, using standard large rifle primers. I used to use Federal 210 primers but since the shortage have gone to Winchester Standard Large Rifle primers and haven’t seen any difference.

Just tried one today.

60.5 Reloader 22 and a 130 SST. Seated to the cannelure.

About three quarters of an inch was the best three shot group. Howa rifle.

Currently working up a load for a friend's .270.

Starting at 52gr and working up to 54.5gr of ADI 2209 and Sierra 130gr Pro Hunters seated .020 off the lands. Standard CCI Large Rifle primers.

Heading to the range this weekend. Hopefully.

I've been working on a load in my CZ 550, I've settled on 56.8gr of IMR 4831 behind a 130gr Hornady interlock seated to the rifling. This is a 9 shot group fired at 500 yards. It measures 1.2moa, 5.9" tall and 3.6" wide at the extremes. Spin drift pushed the group a bit to the right but this load should do fine in the field. The holes outside of the shoot and see were fired by an earlier shooter.
