Was able to shoot my Christensen Arms Mesa for the first time over the weekend after hunting and I'm tickled pink so far. I didn't get to shoot groups just messing around. I had one sand bag shooting off of a brick pillar. No load development just book recommended OAL and 1.5gr below Barnes max recommended charge for each powder.

Sighted in about an inch low at 70yds with 150gr Barnes TTSX and US869 load. Busted a golf ball at about 120yds, and 140yds, and a beer can at about 180. Same bullet with H1000 had almost same point of impact at 120. Felt recoil with muzzle brake was equal to or less than a 270 win from what I could tell.
Can't wait to play with it on paper!

I seen people online, not necessarily on THR, bashing the Christensen Arms rifles cause they can't shoot well especially after a moderate string of fire? Now I personally don't know how someone would think a purpose built lightweight hunting rifle is designed to hold up to a large volume of fire and still be accurate (as in barrel whip and harmonics when hot vs cold) but IDK. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on that?
Edit, I see yours is a stainless barrel, not the carbon wrapped one... I think the carbon one is the one people are complaining about... Sorry.

Ive got a Ridgeline that will shoot very consistently for as long as youd care to feed it.

My buddies Ridgeline would start to wander after 3 or 4 rounds in the same hole.

I think his had more to do with the bedding and his action screws being a little loose as opposed to the tube tho.

Huh, loose action screws you say? Interesting...

very possible, I didnt shoot it much after cleaning up some of the loose bedding compound and resetting his screws......This is a guy who is a great shot but never takes his gun apart for fear of losing zero, and cleans it maybe once a year........Still kills pretty much everything he points it at out to some stupid distances.

Honestly, with the loads I worked up for his other 300 which were REAL teeth clickers (his normal loads barely got 2800) the gun shot like crap, which is why I took it apart and checked stuff.
After tinkering, they shot just under an inch for 5 rounds which are all I could tolerate. I never did shoot it again with his loads.
