Hello,

anyone already shoot with these slugs?
I think they kick like a mule.

Let me know.

You are correct, they kick like a really POED mule. Unless one is hunting large dangerous game, there is probably no need for a 3" magnum slug load. Of course a lot depends on the type of action being used, the stock on the weapon, and the individuals ability to use proper stance and absorb recoil. I used to be able to take my AYA 10 gauge double(18.5" barrels) and fire both barrels at once just to prove recoil did not bother me(3.5" magnum 000 Buckshot). Now as I am older (and wiser) I let others macho out, and try not to show pain.
Remember that even with a standard load sabot slug, you are putting out a 50caliber slug at fairly high speed. That should do it for anything you might meet around here(or there).

I only use shotguns for close-in work, like still hunting (don't know why they call it that, moving slowly through the brush). At 100 meters and probably less, I'm fine with using reduced recoil slugs. If I planned on shooting farther, I'd have brought a rifle. :)

Or as it is sometimes referred to, "killing on one end and maiming on the other."

Unless you plan on taking on Sasquatch, there's no need for them- 2 3/4" slugs will do fine.

Usually I shot also 2 3/4. (RC Evolution)
Sometimes i use 3" slugs (Remington Sluggers, Winchester Super X)

I had some of the older 3" Remington Copper Solids. They shot extremely well out of my 870. Shot tennis ball or smaller groups at 125 yards. Typically all three would be touching or very close to touching.

Bought them because they were on sale for way cheap. I suspect they would shoot through 2 or 3 deer at once, so the term overkill would apply. Now I use 2 3/4" Hornady SST's since the copper solids are no longer available.

I have shot this powershock rifled slugs yesterday.
They kick pretty much.
Almost the same as SuperX from Wiçnchester and Sluggers from Remington.
Accuracy is the same I think?
Or not?

I wouldn't doubt that those copper solids would do just that.

Just last year, a friend shot 176 yards with a TC .50 muzzleloader, shooting I believe a 250gr sabot with 3 pyrodex pellets for a charge. Went right through the 10pt buck's lungs, and then into the doe behind him, and stopped on the backside of her ribs after double-lunging.
