In my opinion.......
I think us gun enthusiast have been given a chance to catch our breath with the IRS & Benghazi scandals...
This administration will be on defense for the remainder of our beloved presidents time in office...
We have 3.5 years to prepare for the next gun-grabbing attack...
I think this is a time for gun & ammunition manufactures to decide if they want to tool up for continued growth, or leave the door open to new competition...

We may have 3.5 years until the actual next election, but the fight is going to start with the selection of the candidates. Considering that in back rooms in the capitol and state houses around the country, those candidates are already being chosen, the fight is now. We don't have time to catch anything. We have to let anyone and everyone know how strong we are, how united we are, and how we feel.

I think you might want to take a deep breath as I expect more fight coming before the end of this year.
This administration doesn't get all that worked up about scandalous behavior. After all ,what have you heard lately regarding fast and furious and the fact that Eric Holder was charged with contempt of Congress but absolutely no action taken agains him .
Present scandals will blow over just like the past ones. With a little breeze from the east I can smell the weasel poop all the way from DC to the west coast.
More gun related legislation is on its way well before the end of this administration.

umm no, next year the entire house us up for election. Flip the house and watch it come right back.

On the state level, CO has a battle next year. If punishment is not seen here then what happened will spread like wildfire.

It aint over till its over and its not over nor will it ever be.

Gun control will be a major issue in the 2014 primeries as well as the 2014 general election. Now is not the time to "catch our breath". Its time to open our wallets and support candidates that support us. If no candidate exists then we have to step up to the plate and run for office.

^ This. There might not be anything up for vote at the national level, but there is plenty going on at the state level (depending on your state).

It's like lifting weights, wrt catching our breath. Learn to breathe at the right times and with the right cadence...but ALWAYS be breathing :)

Sure the leftists are distracted at the moment with all the scandals erupting. However, their persistent agenda will not go away. We may be catching our breath at the moment, but that is all. Disarmament is an agenda they will not give up. Neither should we give up our liberty, nor allow it to be taken from us by not being continually vigilant.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. The fight will always continue.

I am worried how many house seats the pro gunners may lose because of the 90% lies and other crap the anti's spew to magnify their cause...

IMHO, few, if any. The crowd that would be more in favor of gun control will be motivated by economic and budget issues. The push for more gun control may lead to us picking up a couple seats that we would not have otherwise picked up. Again, JMHO...

2014 is the next fight, and Colorado is the prime battleground. It was the one piece of new ground they managed to grab, and if the punishments are not severe they will be greatly strengthened in Oregon, Washington, Minn, and half a dozen other "border" states. If on the other hand those who voted in favor of the bans are ousted, it will help to neutralize the Bloomberg Bucks.

The Senate is also important, but since nothing actually passed we won't have the same level of traction. Victory there will be keeping the status quo, fighting Bloomberg's efforts to unseat those who voted down the measures. The headline needs to be that all D's who voted with the GOP have held their seats. Mine is Begich, and he has my full support.

More scandals = more distance from the party in power.

These are going to grow as there must be at least dozens of people that knew... and not all of them will shut up when they go to Congress.

And the Fast and Furious scandal isn't dead, it may resurface.

I feel a big "I told you so" to the pro-Obama crowd.

These scandals are going to go from bad to worse... and these are bad short term for the nation, but they were inevitable and necessary and good for the nation, long term, to get clean house.

Hopefully these will result in cleaning house, and 2014 elections that vote in honest people who are pro-gun.

Dude...there is a gun grabbing Democrat in the White House and a Democrat majority in the Senate, with the entire House up for election next year (2014).
