Am I the only dummy this has happened to?? Took my Mossberg 12ga Turkey gun (pump action) pumped a round in, but didn't have my left hand forward enough. The corner edge of the forestock was resting on my hand. When I shot, the recoil drove the corner edge 1/4" in to my hand..Hurt like hell and ended up with three stitches. Now certainly I'am not the only one this has happened to. Any body have a similar story??

I got 2 stitches from a damn little Baby Browning... and I was even making sure it didnt slide bite me..

I had adjusted the stock position on my Mav88 for my wife and didn't move it back when I went to shoot. Bent the frame on my glasses a bit, but no significant damage. Still, lesson learned.

I've been bolt bit by my AK's a few times. I shoot lefty and my hand slid back too far. Tore the crap out of my thumb. No stitches, though. I just toughed it out. Put some masking tape over it and kept shooting. The PSL was the worst, no doubt. 7.62x54R round. Now I have a humped forward handguard so I don't do that. It indexes my hand properly.

For the 500 and 870, we're talking synthetic forends, correct? The wood furniture doesn't seem to have the sharp edges.

Also, I'm curious to know which style forend... some are shorter and I'm guessing are a more likely culprit???

not the slide but i got to see one of the guys i hunt with get a pretty good scope bite shooting 3in magnum slugs. he got a cut on his forehead but no stiches. he must have a hard head though...before then i was never aware that you could break a scope IN HALF with your FACE!!!!
