Does anyone have a TC Encore Rifle in a 30.06 and if so what do you think about it and what kinda groups are you getting?

I don't have a Encore in 30/06. I do have one in .308, .270, .223, 22-250, 209x50 M/L, .243, .300 win mag, in rifle barrels. I also have a .308 win 15" handgun barrel and a contender in .35 rem. I may like it just a bit to much. Every one of these barrels will print a 1" (5) shot group at a 100 yards from a bench. I guess the 30/06 will do the same.

I had one with a 30-06 barrel that wouldn't do much better than 1-1/2" groups. I wasn't happy with it so I sold it. I had a 22-250 barrel that would do .75" groups and a muzzleloader barrel that would shoot inside an inch all day long. I can't complain about the gun, other than the trigger. If you're looking to shoot paper, 1-1/2" isn't going to be acceptable, but as a strict hunting gun? 1-1/2" kills them just as good as a 1/2" gun. Ask the deer you shoot what they think. They will just stick their tongue out at you. Hee Hee.

Ill be using it to hunt but I would like it to shoot sub MAO at the same time

You know E Arthur Brown co makes great custom barrels for the Encore for $325. They are the makers of a great falling block rifle called the 97D, check them out they offer some good stuff for the encore.

I have a T/C 24 in. tapered barrel with iron sights for my Encore chambered in 30/06. With Varget and Barnes 165 & 168 gr. TSX and Banded Solid bullets, it's easily MOA or better when shot using a scope.

This barrel initially didn't shoot well enough for me but I sent it back to T/C and they fixed it at no charge thanks to their lifetime warranty.
