I have loaded 168gr. Nosler Btips in my .30-06 with awesome success with IMR and H4350 and Reloader 19.
I totally agree with that statement. IMO a 165gr or 168gr bullet is the best weight for the 30-06 and with those bullets I use only 4350. It produces good velocity and even better accuracy so you'll get no argument from me. I've never tried 4831 in the 30-06 so I can't comment on that combination.

I've shot 147gr, 150gr, 165/168gr, 175gr, 180gr and 200gr bullets from the 30-06 and it's just my opinion the 165/168gr bullet is best. IMO that bullet maintains a straighter trajectory than the heavier bullets but still has a solid punch when it gets there. Any of the bullet weights I listed above are fine but I use 165/168gr bullets for everything in a 30-06. I will change the bullet type for different applications, a match bullet for targets, a Ballistic Tip or GameKing for deer size game and a Nosler Partition or other premium bullet for big bone thick skinned game.

In my .30-06 I tried several brands and types of 150 grain ammo with very poor results. One day at Wally Word they were closing out a couple of boxes of Winchester Supreme 168 gr. Btips and my gun just tightened up the groups dramatically. I then started handloading and the Nosler Btips in 168 is all that I have tried and needed. I am eventually going to try some Sierra Gamekings in 165gr. and maybe some 180gr. bullets of some sort. Good Luck.

Hmm... sounds like I need to give 165g a try at least. Trouble is finding FMJ ones for plinking that are both cheap and have good BCs. Was paying $18/100 for Hornadys.

I like the fact a 168gr Sierra MatchKing, a 165gr Sierra GameKing, 168gr Nosler Ballistic Tip and a 165gr Nosler Partition all shoot to the same POI without adjusting my scope or changing my powder type or charge.

My old Belgian Browning bolt gun in 30.06 loves 165 gr ballistic tips on top of IMR 4064. Doesn't do too well with 150 grainers of any make.Archangel..My 25-06 is lovin Sierra 100gr pro hunters over IMR 4350. It is by far the pickiest rifle I've ever loaded for. Doesn't like any type 4831 nor RL 19, 22 or 25.
