Been reloading my 30/30 for over 20 years and reloading supplies are getting low. I went looking for the Hornady 3035 that I have always used, and cant find them listed anywhere. Got about 50 left and a 100 170G,
Any one got an alternate that would make a good replacement for the 3035? I prefer the accuracy and velocity of the 150G I have always loaded them to push just over 2200 fps using 4198. My Marlin 336 has always loved that loading and shoots great groups at 2200 fps.
Any suggestions are welcome? How about Berrys plated bullets?

"IF" you can find them I have gotten some VERY respectable accuracy from the Remington 150's in both my 30-30 AI Contender and my .308. They do VERY well on both hogs and deer.

I have used up quite a few of them over the last 10 or so years in both, and have found them to be just as accurate as the more expensive bullets. Even if driven to full .308 velocities they still hold together just as they are supposed to.

Like mentioned, "IF" you can find some give them a try. I doubt you will be disappointed.

I am a believer in the Remington Cor-Lokt 150 and 170 grain 30-30 bullets. I have run them head to head with the Hornaday's in several 30-30's and they have better on target results all around for me. The 170 grain being slightly better at grouping at 100 YDS. I am presently getting some Speer Hot Cor 170's ready to try because only that bullet is what was available this last time from anybody. I usually load the REM 170's with 27.1 grains of AA2015 for my accuracy load common for all my rifles. I will work up some loads using the same primer/propellant combo using the 170 grain Speer HCFP bullets and see if they are as good as the REM ones were.

I saw this morning that Powder Valley has 30/30 150 Flat Point Winchester in stock, These have worked for me in the past, but I switched to Speer 150 Flat Point because of availability at times. I would have no problem with them, might want to buy a bunch and work up easy.

I have been using 150gr Sierra ProHunter FN bullets (Part #2000) for the past few years with good success. They shoot as well or better than the Hornady bullets.

Nothing at all wrong with the Remington and Winchester bullets mentioned above either. Both have been taking Deer for a very long time in their Factory ammo.

I buy a lot of my jacketed rifle bullets from Natchez Shooters Supplies as they usually have reasonable prices and enough in stock for a single order when I need them. I also like Powder Valley, Graff's and Midway for bullets as well but always check all of them for price and availability before committing to an order. Usually if there is something obscure I need Graff & Sons has it at a slightly higher price. Good to know they stock so much diverse reloading stuff.:D
