Very soon, I will be the proud owner of a Marlin 336C .30-30 Lever Action. Has anyone tried the FNM .30-30 ammo? I've had good success with the 7.62x25 version of this ammo.

Where can one find a good price on .30-30 ammo?

Thanks for your time.

Regards,

Good prices: Any gunstore. I used Remington UMC 150g in my Marlin and it shot well. Never tried the brand you mentioned.

I know that "Wal-Mart" is a four-letter word for a lot of people, but you can get common calibers, especially 30-30, pretty cheap there.

Or look for sales at your local sporting goods chain store, and stock up.

Do you know by any chance where I can find some chrono stats of their ammo in that caliber? Or any at all? 30-30 for $6.99 a box sounds good too..

Wondernine:

Sorry, I have no chron info on 7.62X25. The FNM is literally a BLAST to shoot. It's loud and has a magnificent muzzle flash.

Nathanael_Greene:

Thanks! I'm thrilled!

I got a 336 a couple of months ago, really like it. I handload 150g sps with 21g of 4198. Really accurate hard hitting gun.

Sorry I am so long in responding.

I've shot S&B, and yes, FNM is hotter, but it's not excessive. The main difference is the beautiful muzzle flash.

Someday, I want to try some .30-30 FNM in my Marlin.
