30-30 WIN die question

I have an old set of lee dies that I picked up for six bucks! I'm wanting to load some of the new (to me) hornady 160gr flex tip's designed for tubular mags. My question is, will these dies that pre-date this bullet work? I'm assuming that the rod in the seater die is designed for a flat or round nose? Let me kow if I should pick up a seating die for .308win or not. Thanks!

Never reloaded the flex tips for my 30-30's, but I highly doubt bullet shape and die matter. They'll work in your Lee dies.

I also suggest giving the dies a chance to work and if problems with the Flex Tip bullets crop up, then a "spitzer Type" seating stem would only cost a couple of bucks to buy.

Or...Drill out the seating stem a small bit to move the contact area up the ogive and allow internal clearance for the soft tip...

i have Wells dies and the seater stem is hollowed out enough to allow spitzer bullets to be loaded.
