I went to the store and got bullets that can be used in a tubular magizine of my Marlin 336 30-30. Now that Im back home and skimming through my 3 reloading manuals as well as online I am having trouble finding load data for this 135grain FTX bullet. I have the Hornady 135gr. FTX bullets and all the data I find is for HP/FN, FNSP, ect. ect. not the FTX that I have. I also cant find the correct weight either I find 125gr, 130gr, then jumps up to 150gr with no in between. Can I just use the 130gr data with a FNSP????? This is driving me nuts lol
Oh yeah Im using IMR 4895

I'd probably use the 150 grain data and work up. Have you checked the Hornady website for loading data with these bullets?

I just went to the Hornady site and it showed data for the 300 blackout using the same bullet I picked for the 30-30. it doesn't show the powder I have which is the IMR4895 and it shows the COL to be 2.040 where as in all my manuals it shows for the 30-30 COL to be between 2.415 2.440 2.435 depending on the bullet used.

Hornady does not make a 135 gr. Ftx. They make a 140 gr. ftx and have data for it in their load book. They also make a 160 gr. ftx.

Huh? its strange because on the box it says can be used safely with a tubular magazine since it has a flex tip but I cant find data for 135gr using the IMR4895.
I was just looking on the midway usa and found these https://www.midwayusa.com/product/3...-308-diameter-150-grain-round-nose-box-of-100
They look like they would work, I even found load data in my one manual to use 26.5gr of IMR4895 with them. Might just get them and find somone who can use the other ones I have for their 300 blk out. Or i could just buy a 300 black out LOL

That's why I told you to call Hornady. I was not suggesting to use the .300 Blackout data at all.

With regard to overall length, if the bullet has a crimping groove, it should be used, especially with tubular magazines.
