I joined the forum last night and this is my first post. I've posted on several other forums about this topic and I've had very little luck so far. I'm looking for 30-40 KRAG brass for reloading and I'm having a difficult time finding it. if anyone has any KRAG brass laying around I'd appreciate the opportunity to buy. I'm new to reloading and have been told that with a 30-40 FLR a .303 Brit will work In the rifle, but being a rookie, I rather stick to the basics. If anyone does have any brass laying around or if they know of a source for the brass please let me know. Thank you all.

Pulse, Welcome to THR. Hang around here and the reloading section will help answer a lot of your questions, some you may not have thought of yet. Read the stickies at the top of the forum, there is some good info for the beginner.

On the 30-40 brass, it took me a while to come across some. I picked up some from Grafs. It's not in stock right now, but they have carried it in the past. They list Winchester for ~.55 each and Remington for more. 30-40 is hard to find period, as it is nearly an obsolete caliber.

I didn't know about forming from 303. Grafs carries it as well, but only the Hornady is in stock, but it's .80 per.

Finding some boxer primed, once fired 303 might be easier than 30-40, but you have to be careful with incipient case head separation as a lot of the Enfield chambers are quite generous and destroy brass. You may want to read on this before you pick up 303 once fired brass so you know what to look for.

Again, welcome to THR.

Hi. Your problem is that both Winchester and Remington only make brass and ammo seasonally. At least according to Midway. No mention of when that season is either. If you see any buy as much as you can afford.
