With the scarcity of 32 Win Special ammo and components I took some advice and got some 30-30 cases to resize up to 32. Are there any special tips/tricks that I should know for doing this ?
I plan on using Imperial sizing wax for the case lube and do a full length re-size on the cases which all appear to be once shot factory shells.

Use plenty lube. Stuck shells are hard to clear. I have not had the pleasure to size up but I do size down from 30-30 to 7-30 and from 357 mag to 256 winmag. Lube is VERY important. I suspect it will be worse on the expander than on the die. Lots of guys do it for 300 blk from 223 so you may want to look for that too as the process would be very similar.

Nothing special if your .32 expander will start in the .30 case neck.

Just inside lube the neck and gofer it and see what happens.

If the expander won't start in the case, you may have to pre-expand them a little with a tapered punch or something.

if you do go the up-size rout, don't for get to change the headstamp or at least clearly mark them so the don't end up in the wrong gun !

I do a lot of sizing up -- I have a .35 Brown-Whelen, which is a .30-06 necked up to .358 with the shoulder sharpened and moved well forward.

The simplest way to size up -- especially with a rimmed cartridge -- is fire forming. Prime the case, sprinkle in a little Bullseye (start at around 4 grains,) and stuff in a quarter sheet of toilet paper. Chamber the case, point it in a safe direction and fire.

It'll take a little experimentation with the charge, but when it turns from a dull boom to a sharp crack! you'll be getting perfect neck expanded cases.

I wondered about fire forming, thanks for the tip Vern.
And much thanks for the info that the rest of you have contributed as well. It's cold and windy out here so perfect conditions to head to the shop...

The 30 to 32 resize went pretty easy but I am noticing that the cases come up shorter in length than the specs. I just plan on loading up some light cast loads anyway for testing so it may not be a big deal.

Update...
I re-sized 15 of the 30-30 cases that I'd gotten and then loaded them with 8gr of Trailboss and a Missouri Bullet Co. .321 170 cast bullet.
Since it's warmed up into the mid 20s today I shot them out back to see if there would be any problems.
They loaded and fed smooth and shot with minute of dinger plate at 50 yards. The cases look fine after being shot as well. Guess I'll have to get the rest sorted, lubed sized up and loaded now. :)
Thanks to All for the tips and information on how to do this. I love it when a plan comes together...

I just lubed the cases with the wax lube with a little extra inside the neck and ran them up into the sizing die. No problem and it felt easier than resizing military brass for the 06.
The bullets fit nice and snug and I put a crimp on them when I seated them in.
Easy peasy...
