Starting to purchase products to work up loads for my 300 AAC upper. Has a 16" 1-7 twist barrel and am primarily interested in subsonic loads. Can is on order so I will have to tweak the loads once its on the barrel. Until then, I'm having a hard time waiting for 7+ months til I get to shoot it.

So, anyone have any pet loads to share? I've been reading up on the 300 AAC Blackout forum but the more info the better.

I am not much help on subsonic loads as I like to shoot my 300 BLK with supersonic loads.

I like H110/W296 with 110-125 grain bullets and have had good luck with AA1680 and 155 AMAX bullets.

I have tried some heavy bullets north of 200 grains and had some trouble getting the action to cycle. They may work better with a suppressor. Accuracy was not great with the heavy bullets, at least in my rifle.

Forum member Walkalong has had good success with 110 VMax bullets over 2400. I just got some 2400 and am waiting for time and good weather to try them out.

Hodgdon has some 300 BLK data. I have used starting loads for 300 Whisper to get started on some loads. The new Hornady manual has a 300 BLK section.

Hope this helps.

Pm me so I remember but I started loading 300 AAC blackout a few months ago, I can help, my blackout has not seen 1 commercial bullet out of it lol, can't find any. But I have alot of 300aac blackout rounds now from cutting and reforming brass. One thing ill tell you right now most of the 300 loads are compressed loads.

Try the second sticky down on this Forum page.

Before I sold :)banghead:) my 300, I was only working with sonic loads. Until you get both your paperwork and then can, you may enjoy some interesting sonic loading. I was impressed with the 147 grain military pulled bullets. (Less than the best bullets giving exceptional accuracy for this old fat guy.)
Should have never said I would sell it.......

Since bullets are pretty much out of stock, I ran into a box of Speer 200gr Hot Core and figured I'd load some of them up. Using Lil Gun for now since AA 1680 is zero balance just about everywhere.

Really looking hard at the Missouri bullet company's 245 gr RNFP bullets since they are going for $36 per 250..

Also going to try some 208gr Hornady A-max and 220gr Sierra Matchking when I can find them.

Finally found some A1680. H-110 is out locally. I have Lil Gun and H4198 but haven't seen much data for H4198 in subsonic loads
