I just rebarreled my 300 aac, going from 10.5 to 16 inches. My go to favorite round is the 125 hornady sst over H110. My typical oal is 2.10 but with this new barrel the bullets are touching or maybe even jamming the lands. Thinking about seating a little further back, maybe starting about 5 to 10 thou. Tried another favorite which is speer 125 TNT and they are fine. BTW the new barrel headspaced fine. Any input appreciated

Are you sure, that seems hard to believe that a 115gr (do you mean a 125gr I don't see a 115gr SST bullet on Hornady's website) bullet would touch the land when loaded .16 inches under maximum overall lengths of 2.26 inches.

If you do go shorter make sure to back off your powder charge and work back up to your desired velocity, especially if you are at or near max change.

I've got a bunch already loaded i was going to set back a few thou over 18 grains of H110. Pretty much zero pressure signs at that load.

The angle of the lede can be different and the new barrel has no throat erosion. Based on it being significantly longer the barrel timing will change so you will need to test new seating depths anyway. Your old loads are likely just a good starting point for the new barrel.

agree, it will physically chamber the rounds as they are into full battery, but when you eject an unfired round you can see light lede marks below the ogive

That short of a lede might be a big advantage if you target shoot a lot with supers, it might not be great for heavy subs. I'd be happy about it but if it's short, it can be cut deeper or erosion will help out. Much harder to put material back... I bet a 110 Barnes works great with barely. 050 jump.

110 Barnes are bad dudes, but seem really high and hard to find. I did a gel test with these 125s and was pretty impressed.
