Does anyone know of a source for .300 Blackout data specific to bolt action rifles?

Tough to find really. Most data is for carbines.

Look for 300 whisper or 300/221 data. That seems to be a bit easier to find. I shoot a lot of 300 whisper through a bolt.

The bolt will allow you to use a HUGE variety of powder and bullets that simply will not cycle or run in an AR. You will not usually have to worry too much about finding components. SOMETHING will run in that gun and keep you shooting lol. That is the whole point imho to a 300 blackout/whisper bolt. Cheap, quiet, easy to feed, plenty accurate, very versatile.

For my heavy bullets going slow I use Lil gun. 8.4 grains gets me right over 1000fps with 220smks. 240 smks and 247g cast bullets do well too.

The magnum pistol powders work great for supersonics and some do well for heavy subs.

Red dot, unique, American select, or most any pistol powder can be used with the lighter bullets. They usually wind up being very quiet too.

I shoot 3.5g of red dot under a 170g cast bullet that does really well. Just watch pressure with the pistol powders. .2gs can make a big difference. A light 30 cal bullet over some fast pistol powder makes a great plinker. Quiet and cheap. Even better if you have light cast bullets.

Accuracy is good. The Jacketed heavy subs will shoot around an inch at 100 yards. Super sonics shoot under an inch at 100. The plinkers range from 2 to 4 inches at 100 depending on whats loaded. The plinkers all do very well at 50 yards.

What kind of loads are you looking for? What components are you wanting to use?

Asking for a friend. He's really frustrated trying to find the data. He has access to tons of components, just a lack of bolt action information.

I load for a bolt action and a hand-full of ARs chambered in 300blk. I've never had any issues using the vast majority of published 300blk data in my mdl-700. I'm thinking nobody tends to mention whether or not it's "bolt action" data simply because it's not a huge concern. I distinctly recall owning 2 ARs before I ended up with a mdl700. All the ammo I had loaded for the ARs shot awesome in the bolt-gun... I'd tell your friend to dive head-first in some Hodgdon/IMR/Accurate/Hornady/Sierra load data, and worry not...They all have free data posted online.
