High everyone, I'm new to the website. I just completed my first total AR build. I used all BCM parts for the upper. I also used their mcmr free float handguard system. I did my best to center the gas tube in the upper receiver inlet, but I just noticed that the tube is resting on the bottom of the inlet (towards the barrel). Is this a problem? The gun shoots fine, I'm just hoping it doesn't mean something is misaligned or bent. I don't want to break anything. The carrier slides forward under its own weight (45 degree test), and their is no hang up on the tube. Although it is possible to hear the gas tube entering the gas key.

Wichester2018, Welcome to the THR!!!, if you have any questions, someone on the THR probably has the answers as the thread above demonstrates.

Optimally the gas tube should not touch the carrier key. If the misalignment is not too bad then the gun will function more or less reliably depending on the amount of contact, but it will cause premature wear on the tube and the gas key. The tube is fairly easy to bend slightly without kinking, so do not be afraid to tweak it into better alignment.

So BCM actually responded to me, and they said this normal. I feel that trying to perfect it would result in more harm than good.
