300 Blackout w/ 150grn pills

I'm looking for any reloading data I can find using 150 grain bullets. I almost have my AR completed and I'd really like to load up some shells so I can play with it when it's done.

For powders I have IMR4227, 2400, RE7, and a little 296 left over. Primers I have CCI 400 and Winchester SR.

As close as I've gotten with the 4227 is,"Sierra Plm HPBT... 155gr.... WSR.... IMR 4227.. 17.0.... 1805.... 2.055"

Then there's this as well(This is for the 300 whisper though):

In some instances, I have used the starting loads for 300 Whisper in working up some 300 BLK loads.

One of my more favorite loads is 155 AMAX over AA1680.
 
1680 and W296/H110 are popular powders in .300 BLK in that bullet weight range. In that burn speed range, you need a dense powder to get enough in the case if you are looking for velocity. If you drop down to faster powders, they do not have to be as dense, but watch pressure signs carefully as you work up. I like 2400 with 110 to 130 Gr bullets. Like cfullgraf, I like AA 1680 with the 155 Gr A-Max. (He turned me onto it) It also works well with 147 Gr pulls.

Of the powders you have, search for W-296 data.

Important point, seating depth is very important with the 300 BlackOut.

Brass used started with RP 300 AAC Blackout head stamped and initially (I must assume) RP primers. After the first loading, all primers were CCI SR. After the supply of RP brass dwindled, cut and reformed LC brass was used. All velocities taken at 10 feet, in nice weather (I'm old and don't like to shoot when hot/cold). I didn't get to finish my testing before I (stupidly) sold the weapon :banghead:

Sorry but spread sheets don't 'cut&paste' well. Weapon used was a 16 inch DSA upper with carbine gas and buffer.

These are proven loadings, in my weapon, with full function and safe. H110 is 296. Velocities are running averages of not less than 15 shots, most are over 40 shots.

My less than scientific view is that the H110/296 powder works a little better fro 147/150 grain bullets. The 630 runs very well with 110 grain bullets, but my supply is very limited and LtGun is very closet (for me). I was getting better accuracy at 100 yards using LtGun.

Before loading up a wad of rounds with anything, test a few just to make sure.

Walkalong, can you share any of your data(disclamer included, lol) for 2400 and your 155 grain loads? Figure it may be a good place for me to start as well.

I really wanted to hold off on using the 296. I use it for my 460 and 44 mag, and I have three brand new unopened 1 lb kegs of the other stuff staring at me, hehe.

I'll load a little of everything, take it out and try it and stick with whatevers best. And from what I'm reading that looks like H110.
 
You might want to give Lil Gun a try also. It has the same velocities as H110 with lower pressure and seems to be more consistent as well, just make sure the loads don't compress the powder or else velocity will go down. AA1680 is the next powder I am going to try
 
If you look at the Accurate load data for 1680, the max load that they list in that bullet weight is basically impossible to get in the case IME. They list 22.0gn, at 20.0, you end up with a rather compressed load. I'm not sure how you would get another 2 grains of powder in there. It's a tiny ball powder and there isn't much room to compress it.
 
It compresses OK, but you are right, 22 Grs is a case full. A long drop tube will help get it down prior to seating the bullet.
 
I'm stuck on 14.7 gr of H110 behind 150 gr boattails. Just make sure your max. case length is 1.368 and stay away from PMP brass. Too thick. Anxious to look at A1680 next.
 
Accurate's data on their website (Available as a PDF file you can download) shows Enforcer/4100 as useful in .300 BLK. I was going to buy a pound of whichever I could find at the last gun show, but they did not have either one.
