300 fireball??????

Has anyone ever heard of a 300 fireball?? I acquired a 300 fireball barrel and I have not been able to find any information about this round. I have seen where people are saying that is it the same as the 300 whisper and others saying that they are not the same....

Just looking for information about this round and if it is possible to re-barrel it to a 300blk out

The chamber and throat specs will depend on the maker and reamer used… It could vary…

It is basically a 221 fireball necked up to 30 cal, which is basically the same as a 300/221 which is basically the same as a 300 whisper, which is basically the same as a 300 blackout…. but not quite the same clear enough? lol

They are all pretty much the same cartridge, but differences in chambering, i.e. neck diameters/thicknesses or coals will vary between all of them to the degree that I would not really interchange a round meant for any of the others unless I was 100 pct sure on the chambering specs.

You should have a good smithy slug the chamber so a comoparison can be made to the wisper/blackout cartridge. May work to fine as is or fire form the blackout/whisper brass to yours , may need to have the chamber recut ?? Go check out 221 fireball wiki page for some basic early info to pursue.
