Bought Wilson Combat 300 Ham'r barrel and a few boxes of their ammo along with the lancer magazines they sell.

Assembled the upper and with nice weather today, thought I might try it out. Didn't get very far. Manually cycled a round and found the bullet stays in the barrel, and powder was everywhere..

Cleaned it up and tried it again. Same thing.

Checked the oal of the remaining ammo from that box and it measured 2.214-2.221.

Since I now had two empty cases and two bullets, I re-seated them and used my Lee dies put my 'usual' factory crimp on them, set the oal to 2.220. This leaves the bullet in the barrel upon case election.

I re-seated to 2.2185 and same light crimp, this ejects bullet with case, but my oal was now 2.2192. run that same piece through again and now my oal is 2.2198. bullet comes out with case both times.

Run it through a through time and the bullet stays in the barrel.

I did another round at 2.220 and a very tight crimp. The oal didn't move, but I had to tug on the charging handle to get the bullet to release.

I'm curious what you all are using for your oal in your AR style 300 Ham'r. The ammo was 110gr sp. Hodgdon says 2.230 for oal on that bullet. Going up to a 130gr, they show 2.150.

If I were to seat the remaining ammo to 2.150 and use a light crimp, am I upping the pressure?

I'll be calling wilson combat tomorrow, but I'm mostly curious about that pressure question.
