    Is there any sort of equivalent that will cycle in an SKS? If you took like a 200gr bullet and seated it really deep, would that do the same thing?

    The Yugo SKS has a gas cutoff valve that allows the use of rifle grenades.
    This feature might be handy for your project. Other factors to consider
    would be starting mild enough with your handload to avoid case ruptures;
    and whether the twist will stabilize a 200 grain bullet.
    This sounds interesting. Good luck and give use a range report on
    your findings.

    Damn, looked farther into it and it's not looking likely in any form, and the SKS definately would not cycle. Oh well! I did find a cool new cartridge on the SSK website though - might make owning a PTRD more practical later on:)
