Wow thanks
I'm leaning towards 300 WSM

So now for the Rifle:
Looking for that balance between affordable Performance and super smooth accuracy in a handsome and reliable portable package, and preferably threaded barrel.
Am considering Sako from models 85, Grey Wolf, Finnbear, V, and A7, also Bergara Ridge, Browning, possibly Tikka ,am fairly open but Max$ is $1250
Would prefer under $800 but looking for something Nice as this is an about to turn 50 present to me

I'm also looking at the Browning b a r and blr lever action
By the way can semi automatic 30 caliber rifles be effectively suppress with an Omega 300 silencerco suppressor?
Order suppressors work much better out of a bolt-action type rifle?
Does anybody have a BAR or BLR

Regarding rifles: A few years ago I picked up a Sako FinnLight in 300 WM. Absolutely beautiful balance, action and trigger. Good magazine design, and light enough for the cartridge, to be sure.

I am a handloader, and hunting accuracy is all i need for my rifles. That said, i never got the rifle to print much better than 2.5" groups with any full power hunting bullets, including Barnes, Nosler, Hornady with several appropriate powder, with the occasional head-scratcher group around 4".

Examined my benchrest technique for light rifles, shot the same. Different scope and mounting hardware did not improve.

Corresponded with other owners that had similar issue, almost always in the more powerful calibers . The 85 uses an interesting recoil lug setup, to say the least. Some had success with a new semi-custom stock, some did not. I ended up replacing the rifle with another lightweight rifle, with good effect.

Not meaning to be a damper on your rifle aspirations, but these are my experiences. If you are a huge accuracy proponent, this rifle may be more challenging. But the ergonomics and finish of the 85 still leaves me wishing it worked out sometimes.
