I was very impressed with the 180 grain Remington Core-Lokt bullets in my Jungle Carbine. I had previously chronoed the loads at 2310 fps (muzzle) in the shorter barrel of the Jungle Carbine. The bullet entered the front right shoulder on a quartering toward shot at just over 100 yards. The bullet was recovered just inside the hide in front of the left hip. The recovered bullet measured .653" with a retained weight of 152.2 grains and the final result is a hog in the freezer.

Yep, the .303 should work a treat. I occasionally hunt with my 1891 Mauser in 7.65 x 53 (nearly a .303), with handloads and 180 gr. bullets it puts down hogs and deer easily.
