Are the 223 AR15 stocks the same as the stocks for .308 AR's? In other words are the stocks interchangeable between the two?

If we're talking AR-10:

For rifle-length receiver extension tubes, yes.

For carbine-length extension tubes, there are AR10 length and AR15 length. You can use the AR15 length if you have a shorter than normal carbine AR10 buffer

You asked a general question but here's a specific answer. MAGPUL's PRS stock isn't interchangeable between the two. The AR-15 stock won't work on an AR-10 due to the length of the AR-10 charging handle which interferes with the adjustable cheek rest.

:)

Thanks for thelp guys but Im still confused. How can I determine if the complete stock assembly will work or not? Are there actual measurements that I can measure with a regular ruler to determine? I've got DPMS AP4 complete stock assembly if this helps.
