I got my data from The Hornady reloading manual app. It puts the 150gr FMJ overall length at 2.70. I couldn’t find much info for the 4166 powder. I took the data that called for 2.80 OAL at 43gr powder and just reduced it a few grains (about 10%) and worked my way up just to be safe. I’m shooting it out of an AR10 with an 18 inch barrel. It’s starting to sound like I might be being a little overly cautious...
Now we find out what type of firearm the Op is shooting.

That helps, measure your magazine for max bullet length, reduce .01” load a round with no powder and see if it chambers or the bullet contacts the rifling keeping the round from chambering. If hitting rifling reseat bullet another .01” until the round chambers. Now you have your COAL for that rifle. Start loading.

Are you reducing a minimum charge by 10%? That's not a great idea. A capture and post of what your using will help us best anilize what your working with.

Just an update, I was able to get out and shoot the ammo I made. I had pretty significant extractor swipe on the 43gr load. 39gr and 40gr of the 4166 powder was making excellent groups at 100 yards. Thanks again for the help!
