Awhile back I purchased several cans of 308 ammo. It was on 5 rd stipper clips, 2 clips per pouch, and the bandolier has 5 pockets. All of the ammo was removed from the stripper clips, but for some reason I kept all of the bandoliers and the stripper clips. Now I am wondering what 308 rifle uses 5 rd stripper clips. M14 or M1A? Also, about how much does each stripper clip cost/ Bandolier cost? They are all in like new condition and the bando's are made of a heavy fabric unlike the AR-15 bando's.

M14/M1A have a 'charger bridge' that allows you to load the mag while it's in the gun. I bought a big sack full of clips at a flea market for $5. Fred's Stocks has repack kits (a 6 pocket bandoleer, cardboards and 12 clips) for $7.50.

It's probably for something like a M1916 Spanish Mauser (which has an internal 5rd magazine). Most of them were converted to 7.62 NATO (.308Win) many years ago. There may be other such bolt action rifles that were also converted.

From your description Im guessing you have Aussi F4 bandoleers and strippers.

The clips work for FAL's and M-14's.

Worth about $8 for the bandoleer and 10 strippers.

The bandoliers are from India, were loaded with OFV ammo. I took a count last night and have 24 bandoliers and 240 clips. Also, the clips have a zinc or phosphate finish to them.

Sounds like USGI 7.62x51 (DODIC A130) originally fielded for M14s. Also on issue for fam fire with other battle rifles like the FAL and G3, which is why I used to get it issued on my STRAC.
