I picked up some 308 brass from the range and separated it by headstamp. Here are my questions:

I found about 30 pieces that have been identified as Lake City and produced in 1988. They have the NATO stamp. Any potential problems reloading these (I know that some people suggest reducing loads with military brass by 10%)?

Next up is a good quantity of brass whose only markings are "88" at the twelve o'clock position and a "12" at the six o'clock position. There is a triple element design (at the 2, 10, and 6 o'clock). No other markings and I'm having trouble depriming them. Any information about this brass?

Take a flash light and shine it in the case so you can see the flash hole is there 1 or 2, the lake city brass is boxer primed(1 flash hole) and therefore easilly reloaded. A lot of other mil surplus ammo out there is berdan primed and not worth wasting your time on.

Pitch the berdan primed "88" brass, and keep the LC brass as its good. Reduce the loads for the LC brass to 2 full grains below max and this is your max load for milspec brass. Start loads for the LC below that to start...

Thanks for the quick replies. I really like the flashlight trick. No wonder I had trouble depriming the brass...
